Sangree Old Hollywood Shoot

This evening I had the privilege to shoot one of my fellow photographer friends and his wife. They came to me several months ago and asked if I could shoot their new portraits "Old Hollywood" style. I have always wanted to shoot this style of portraiture so I didn't hesitate to say yes.

I learned a lot this evening trying to light this style of portraiture. I quickly found out that it's harder than it looks when you are using strobes. Back in the 30's and 40's they used big spotlights to light their subjects so they could see exactly what the light was doing. With some random trial and error, I think we hit the nail on the head.

Thank you Christain and Holly for letting me get outside of my box with you two!

Enjoy!

Last Sunday I shot Rachel for her Anthony David Modeling Agency portfolio. Rachel is one of those models that just has a natural beauty to her. She shines on camera and it's hard NOT to take a great picture of her. This makes my job soooooo easy! She is also one of the sweetest models I have shot as well.

Thanks Rachel for being so great to work with!

So6ix March 2010 Issue - Etta Smith

Before I went to India I shot one of my favorite models again for the So6ix Magazine March Issue. She is always a pleasure to work with and makes my job soooo easy!

I am on a kick of trying new ways to edit and new ways to light my models. I am very excited to play around with new ideas. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.......I think this one worked! :)

Etta....... High Five!

Brian and Liz's Engagement

The wonderful couple Brian and Liz hired me for their wedding a few weeks ago.  Since they live out of state and were only in town for a few days, we had to do a rush engagement shoot-which meant shooting the week after the blizzard that hit Oklahoma.  It was my first engagement shoot in the snow and I must say it was stunning!

It always makes my day to shoot a couple that is so affectionate.  Holding hands, gazing adoringly at one another... You could see their love in each simple thing they shared.  It made my job a cinch!

Congrats to them both for finding true love!

Last summer I had the privilege of shooting the 2010 Thunder Girl Calendar for our very own OKC Thunder Basketball Team.  This was a GREAT opportunity for me and I think it turned out pretty darn good!  Pick one up and let me know what you think.  Hopefully you'll enjoy it.

Special thanks to Sabrina, Christina, Kevin, and Omar. They were also a HUGE help in this.

I shot photos for Veronica's portfolio early last year.  She came back in December wanting to expand her portfolio with a more commercial look.  I could instantly tell she was much more comfortable in front of the camera this round and the images turned out AMAZING!

Thanks to Veronica for being such a great client!

Vidal Sassoon Hair Contest

I had the opportunity to work with Allie Sandager for her entry into the Annual Vidal Sassoon Hair Contest early this December.  She did an amazing job on the hair and make-up! Sadly, we cannot post the image that she submitted for the Contest. :(    BUT, you can see it hanging in the studio. :)

Jacquelyn's Headshot Interview

This is Jacquelyn's So6ix Headshot Interview.  Most of you know that I shoot for So6ix Magazine. (www.So6ix.com)  We are starting a new headshot/interview database.  Models that want to be in the magazine have to come in for a video interview and a headshot session. We then take the images and interview and add them to a database for future model picks.  We are also using these to send to agencies and clients needing models. More to come...........

Pitzer Lawn Management

This holiday season, Pitzer Lawn Management hired me to shoot their Christmas light displays at the UCO campus.  They really did a beautiful job!

P.S. They also do houses.
